We do not charge an adoption fee. We are thorough with adopters and we require contracts that we do follow up on to be signed. All animals have to be spayed/neutered within the time given.

All adoptions are on a first come, first served basis on the day the cat is available. Phone 252-534-1125 to check the cat is available.

To adopt you must be at least 18 years of age and provide a current ID.

Most of our cats are strays, and we can only guess by observing the behavior of the animal in the kennel and interaction by the shelter staff, whether they are good with other animals or children.

We do not charge an adoption fee. All animals are vaccinated against Rabies. All animals must be spayed/neutered within 60 days of the adoption date Distemper vaccination, rabies vaccination and spay/neuter is included. NOTE: our adoption prices are subject to change due to the lack of reduced price spay/neuter appointments. Prices are generally higher using our local veterinarian.

Shelter accepts cash (exact amount) and checks from County residents - cash only from out of County residents.
