This dog has been in the shelter too long and its future life is now being counted in days! Please visit this dog and find a rescue that can move it to a safe place. These dogs are VERY URGENT! We are full! If interested call 252-534-1125 and leave a voicemail with your contact phone number, name, and dog you are interested in. We need RESCUES to help if you have room. ALL dogs have been tested with multiple humans and other dogs. Some are sharing a kennel, and have done well also. We are beyond capacity and need help. Some of our normal rescues are struggling as well.

We do not charge an adoption fee. All animals are vaccinated against Rabies. We are thorough with adopters and we require that you to sign an adoption contract that we do follow up on. All animals have to be spayed/neutered within 60 days from the adoption date.

All adoptions are on a first come, first served basis on the day the dog is available. Phone 252-534-1125 and leave a message to check Brooks is still available.

To adopt you must be at least 18 years of age and provide a current ID.

Most of our dogs are strays, therefore we can only guess whether they are good with other animals or children by observing the behavior of the animal in the kennel and their interaction with the shelter staff.

Viewing and adoption is available Tuesday-Friday: 1pm-5pm.

Kennel space is limited. Come to the shelter to meet Brooks, or call 252-534-1125 and leave a message for more information.

Enquiries from rescues are welcome.
