Dogs Needing Homes in Jackson, North Carolina

Virginia law says that we have to keep a dog for 3 days (0 days if it has ID or a collar) so that the owner can claim it before we can put the dog up for adoption. If you are interested in a particular dog before its available date please contact us. We would like a dog to go to a new home or rescue as soon as possible after its 'available' date.

Please find a foster home or rescue that will save an URGENT dog. They have little time!

• We do not charge an adoption fee. All animals are vaccinated against Rabies. All animals must be spayed/neutered within 60 days of the adoption date
• Adoption of dogs is open to residents with homes in Hertford, Bertie, Halifax, Warren, Northampton County areas of North Carolina.
• Adopters must sign a sterilization agreement to have the adopted pet spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption.
• Adopters must return the proof of sterilization paperwork within seven (7) days of dog being spayed or neutered.
• Dogs that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to anyone including out of state residents.
